Complex segmentation use cases and multiple websites to manage.
Create a unified supporter view across all websites, while providing a hyper-personalized fan experience.
The Club now known as West Ham United was formed as Thames Ironworks FC in 1895 as the works team of the Thames Ironworks & Shipbuilding Company Limited.
After being reformed in 1900, the Hammers joined the Football League Second Division in 1919, reached the FA Cup final, and were promoted to the First Division in 1923.
FA Cup victories were enjoyed in 1964, 1975, and 1980, followed by a record-high third-place League finish in 1985/86 and, since 1993, the Irons have been regular members of the Premier League.
To date, West Ham United has been represented by some of the finest players to lace up a pair of boots, too, including three of the men who inspired England to FIFA World Cup glory in 1966 – captain Bobby Moore, hat-trick hero Geoff Hurst and fellow goal scorer Martin Peters – and many, many more.
With their recent Premier League success, West Ham United wanted to replicate this success off the pitch as well as on. After qualifying for the Europa League earlier in 2021, West Ham United has added a new dimension to their fan base. With more games, more hospitality and more communications to consider than ever before, they required a platform that could give them the support they needed, as well as deserved, to help them achieve their ambitious goals. Plus, with their previous marketing automation platform sunsetting, it was the perfect opportunity to consider their next move.
West Ham United chose Mapp Marketing Cloud as they wanted to cement themselves as an outstanding football club and needed a leading solution to partner with in order to do so. With complex use cases around segmentation, Mapp will be supporting West Ham United to link up their main information website and eCommerce shop to ensure they have a unified supporter view across all of them. By doing so, they will be able to really focus on the fan experience and ensure all supporters will receive hyper-personalized communications from the right channel and at the right time. They will be able to engage not only their long-time loyal supporters – but also their budding ones who are just starting out on their journey with the club.
Mapp prides itself on the high level of support given to customers, and West Ham United is no exception to this. With lots of exciting projects on the horizon, including launching a new app, Mapp will be able to ensure that West Ham United is working towards key milestones, while also future-proofing their overall strategy.
